XSitePro V2

July 7, 2008 · Comment

One post I forgot to put in last month was the launch of XSitePro V2

This piece of website building software has been around for some years and is great for building all types of websites from general sales latter sites right through to Adsense sites.

The biggest advantage of Xsitepro is that there is no need to learn html as it comes with very easy to follow instructions and web design templates. On top of that add built apps which make all sites highly SEO optimized and friendly plus the new version comes with a stack of other great features and new templates.

Traffic Secrets 2.0

July 7, 2008 · Comment

If you don’t know the name John Reese you must be living in a cage! Well it’s been 4 years since he launched traffic secrets and his now doing the pre launch for traffic secrets 2.0.

In these couple of videos his gives some very good general information on how to go about getting traffic by various means including web2.0 and SEO. He also talks a lot about content and building/obtaining a larger percentage of content on the web which make good sense.

I love John’s work as it is always in the main always backed up by solid research.

The only downside of his last traffic secrets was the sheer volume of information. One of the biggest problems faced by most online marketers is that they try to do many marketing tactics at once.

This is fantastic if you have the budget and resources to do so but if you are a solopreneur or a micro business you will be spreading yourself too thin and getting no where fast.

How Not To Set Up An Affiliate Program

July 6, 2008 · 3 Comments

I get really annoyed when I find a great piece of software, book or product which has an affiliate program however the company makes it nearly impossible to find it.

In having just wasted a good hour or more searching for affiliate sign up information for a piece of software, here are some tips on what you should do to make sure that potential affiliates can find your affiliate information easily.

1. Always have a separate affiliate information page. Even if this page is not linked to your index page people who are interested in becoming your affiliate can find the details by conducting a simple search on one of the major search engines.

2. If your affiliate program runs through Clickbank still have a separate page showing affiliates how to set up their Clickbank affiliate (hop) link. Why? Clickbanks search feature is hopeless and it’s saves the affiliate having to search through dozens of pages of products.

Information such as

  • Email accounts
  • Blog platforms

Getting Your Business Online - NEIS Guide

May 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

Having discussed how to build an online web presence with quite a number of NEIS participants, I have noticed that there is very little knowledge if any on how to go about getting their businesses online.

I have therefore written a short guide that will help NEIS businesses or any business for that matter that explains how to simply go about getting a website up and running so that a web presence can be established.

The guide is not about marketing online, it simply states the steps to get your site built and put it on the web.

The About Page on Your Website - The Molecular Measure of Your Business Character

December 18, 2007 · 1 Comment

Good business means not being the most mysterious for your customers.   Loyal customers need to have some idea of who you are and what makes you tick.

The About Us Page on your website is most likely the first place that they will look.  You have an opportunity here to lay the foundation for an ongoing business relationship or to wreck the future of any business relationship.

The About Us page can double for a contact page with specific contact information.  Regardless of warnings about Internet security, your customers are not all stalkers who shouldn’t know your address. More of them are people leary of someone operating solely in cyberspace.  They feel more comfortable with a brick and mortar address to which they can snail mail some communication.  They will learn more about your business culture by knowing your geographical location.

A real telephone number and customer service or support resource for your business is essential for your success.  A chat option is very appealing to customers, right up there with the telephone contact.  The Chat Option could be your instant messenger or Skype ID being activated to respond to a question or contact.

Live Help Software Services Tips

December 14, 2007 · Comment

1. Ensure that your live help link or image is always at the top of the page or in a prominent position so that the customer can clearly view it when landing on the page.

2. Only put live help on your most important pages. Getting a pop-up on every page a customer visits will drive them away.

3. Set up your automatic push settings immediately after installation. Have a clear understanding of your pages content and the time it takes to read so that your automatic pop-up triggers at the most appropriate time.

4. Make sure that operators are well trained and versed with the products benefits and features. Nothing worse than a customer service representative that doesn’t know their stuff and keeps you waiting while locating specific information.

Since myspace found its way to the web some years ago, social networking sites have been spring up all over the place. They now come in all forms and shapes such as Myspace.com, Squidoo.com, Facebook.com to name just a few and many more.

So why, when Myspace has such a big following and online presence would Yuwie even come close to making a dint in this market place?

Its has all the same features as Myspace such as friends, a blog, photo album, broadcasts and much more but the one huge difference is that is pays it social network members for just going about their usual social activities.

Beware of Google Adsense Click Fraud!

February 5, 2007 · Comment

It’s an unfortunate fact that many AdSense users are getting their accounts terminated when they’ve done nothing wrong. Considering the money one can make from effective AdSense use, the loss of one’s account can be a real blow. Especially if the owner doesn’t know why their account is being revoked!

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of costing the advertiser money. Many website owners are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment; click fraud is the one big problem with AdSense.  After all, it can get your account taken away from you, even when you’re not the one committing the fraud!

How can you keep this from happening to you?

The majority of web hosts are now offering access logs. If click fraud happens to you, it is imperative that you hand this log over to Google. This allows them to look for any suspicious activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious and giving them the log lets them know that you are committed to cooperating and want to work towards solving the problem.

Using Adsense On Your Website To Increase Profits!

February 5, 2007 · Comment

How can you maximize the earnings you get from your site?

By displaying Adsense advertisements, that earn you money every time someone clicks on them. Many people are now realizing that good money is made doing just this. Do the math, and you will discover a profitable source of side income, all through negligible effort.

Google Adsense is a fast and easy way for website publishers to earn money by posting relevant, text-based Google ads on their web site’s content pages. The ads displayed are related to what your users are looking for on your site. This is the main reason you can earn money through using Adsense, and enhance your site.

How much you will earn depends on how much the advertisers are willing to pay. It will depend on the keywords required. If the keywords the advertiser have chosen are in high demand, you could receive more dollars per click. On the other hand, low demand keywords will earn you just a few cents per click.

Blogging Profits For Students The Retired And All

February 5, 2007 · Comment

The idea of earning a little extra money on the side is a well-accepted way to use one’s free time, no matter your age. Students may find ways to make money to support themselves while retirees may do so in an effort to feel as though they are spending their now jobless hours in a productive way. Really, babysitting and intensive managing are the same animal, two seemingly disparate jobs connected by the desire to earn.

The desire to earn grew when the Internet came on the scene. Suddenly students were making money by answering surveys, popular stores were establishing profitable online presences, and whole businesses operated solely through the web. Blogging only increased the opportunities for money making.

A blog is a like a mini web site. The word blog is slang for web log, and like its name suggests, it is primarily used for journaling. Blogs can be essential to business owners as well, however; blogs are not just for the individual writing about intimate concerns or opinions. Companies can use blogs to explain their product in an interactive and colorful manner, drawing the customer’s eye and, therefore, their attention in a variety of ways. Blogs can be used to organize business meetings, and to remind people of upcoming project deadlines.

Improvements To Make More Money With Google AdSense

January 26, 2007 · Comment

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling to earn money through their sites, but some are making hundreds of dollars a day! The difference is AdSense.

Here are some ways to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrate on one form of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280).  Why is this format so successful? Partly because the ads look like normal web links, and people are more likely to click these out of familiarity. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, it will help you and your bank account!

Doe’s Dont’s Of A Blog And Blogger

January 26, 2007 · Comment

Blogging, despite its naysayers, has proved its many capabilities. The vast majority of people use blogs these days, whether for personal things or to advance a business. People became more aware through blogs, and businesses grew as people voted with their dollars.

Blogs also let you organize and save information. Many blog sites give you the option of keeping your writings private, allowing you to use a blog as you would a paper day planner. Or, you can use your blog to store things like recipes, while sharing them with others by simply leaving your writings public.

If you do want to attract others to your blog, then having your own blog is a bit like choosing a new car. You must choose the make, color, and features that will best suit your needs. You also must think of beautiful internal details that are visibly attractive to others. Blog as though you are your primary audience, but keep in mind that it will be viewed by many, like a car owned by one person but intended to carry many passengers. Your blog gives the viewer some insight in to who you are, just like cars can help determine the personality of the driver.

Why Adsense Is Essential For Content Sites

January 26, 2007 · Comment

Before you can understand why AdSense is so important to content sites, it’s important to know how AdSense works.

The concept is simple. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click. The search engine handles all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive ads without the hassle of soliciting advertisers, collect funds, and monitor the clicks and statistics.

Adsense is essential for content sites because it has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of a more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters can choose from many different types of ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

Removing Bloggers Block

January 14, 2007 · Comment

Some of you may have already experienced writer’s, or in this case blogger’s, block. This is when you can’t seem to start blogging anything worthwhile, sometimes not even a single word’s worth.

How could this happen when you were so good at blogging before? Why is it that you can’t get one word written? And the most frustrating thing of all: the more time you spend thinking about blogging, the less able you are to start your next project! Is there any cure?  Luckily, there are a few things you can try.

Visiting other people’s blogs is a good start. Read through your favorite ones, or do a random blog search and see what gets turned up. Reading what other people have to say can spark your own creativity and send you over the hump of blogger’s block. Leave some comments to get you started; you might be able to expand on their ideas, and sometimes you can track back to your own blog.  Looking at your blog inbox can help, too, as there might be a question or comment there that can get you started.

7 Secrets To Writing A Successful Ad

September 9, 2006 · Comment

(And Make Your Customers Buy Your Product!)

Whether you’re advertising a product on print, radio or Internet, the following tips will help you write and successfully advertise it:

YOUR HEADLINE OR TITLE PROMISES SOMETHING TO YOUR CONSUMER.

Yep, you gotta grab their attention at the outset — that is, by way of your headline. Tell me, would you buy a product after reading this headline: “New Hair Growth Shampoo Now In The Market!” I don’t know about you, but if it was something like, “50% Hair Growth In 7 Days!” I’d buy the product and try it out to see if it delivers what it promised in the headline.

It’s a more effective headline than the first because it gives a concrete result in only a short time. Bald or semi-bald people are more likely to buy the product when they read the second headline.

Online Business Strengths and Weaknesses

September 9, 2006 · Comment

Although I now think about this topic a lot, having this foresight many years ago when I first started my online business would have been a huge advantage.

What I have found of my self and many online marketers is that they love gathering and learning new information… which is a great ability to have.

But on the down side of this, there are then tasks that such people shy away from or just don’t want to do.

The problem there is that depending on your website or online business, some of these tasks or parts are required for success to happen.

Get Continually Returning Customers Using Great Site Content

August 4, 2006 · Comment

Site content would have to be one of the most important aspects of your marketing efforts as it induces a customer to purchase and also come back for repeat business.

It is no good getting a customer to your site if it’s poorly built or uninformative. Unlike traditional business, where a customer builds a relationship with the business or shop owner, the customer can only build a relationship through the website itself. It is therefore critically important to have a website that incorporates these items:

1. Clear, concise and easy to navigate.

A. The first or second paragraph should tell customers what the website is about.
B. Keep your pages simple and concise.
C. Make sure your pages load quickly with properly editored html.
D. Graphics are nice, however the make the pages load slowly.
E. Make sure all pages are linked and navigation bars are easy to find and use.
D. Too many banners can annoy customers and make your site look unprofessional.

Climbing Mount Profit - Starting From The Top

August 4, 2006 · 1 Comment

By John Reese of MarketingSecrets.com

I have been an entrepreneur for most of my life. I started my journey as an entrepreneur at age 11. Ironically, it was running a BBS (bulletin board system) with a computer, a 300 baud modem, and a phone line in 1981.

(BBSs essentially became the Internet that we know today.)

It would take me nearly 15 long years of being an entrepreneur before I would really make much money. And by that I mean more than $6,500 in a single YEAR which didn’t happen until almost 15 years later.

I have made every mistake in the book and invented several new ones when it comes to being an entrepreneur.

I was in nearly $100,000 of debt by age 22 — mainly from trying every business possible.
